The Heart Behind Hey You
Hey You by Brooklynn was born from a simple but powerful realization: talent is abundant, but the tools to protect a young performer’s peace within creative spaces are often missing. Brooklynn’s journey through the world of performance revealed a culture where performers are frequently taught to prioritize 'being grateful' over setting boundaries.
We exist to change that narrative. Our mission is built on the belief that a young performer’s voice is their most important instrument—not just on the stage, but in the rehearsal room, the classroom, and every conversation in between. Through intentional mentorship and skills-based workshops, we empower teen performers to recognize their worth and use their voices with confidence and clarity.
Today, Hey You by Brooklynn is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that no girl or performer has to choose between their passion for performance and their mental and emotional safety. We are creating a world where teen girls shine without shrinking.
